Disable software updates and Proxy settings - Firefox

Change or Create these file to disable update button in firefox.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\mozilla.cfg

lockPref("app.update.enabled", false);
lockPref("app.update.auto", false);
lockPref("network.proxy.type", 0);

C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref\local-settings.js

pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0);
pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");


After firefox restart , Update and Proxy settings are greyed out. User can not change these settings.

CentOS release yum lock

# cd /var/run/
# ls
Look for the 'yum.pid' file.
# rm -f yum.pid
